Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 5 pieces jalapeños, halved lengthwise and seeded Use larger jalapeños for milder taste; smaller for more heat.
  • 4.5 oz cream cheese, softened Full-fat for a creamier texture; low-fat varieties can also work.
  • 3/4 cup cheddar cheese, shredded Sharp cheddar preferred for flavor; mozzarella or pepper jack can be substituted.
  • 2 tbsp green onions, chopped For a burst of fresh flavor.
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs Panko preferred for crunch, regular breadcrumbs work in a pinch.
  • 1.5 tbsp butter, melted and cooled to room temperature Helps breadcrumbs adhere better.
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika For added smokiness.

Method

Preparation
  1. Slice the jalapeños in half lengthwise and carefully scoop out the seeds and white membranes. Pat the halves dry with a paper towel.
  2. In a small bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar, green onions, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until smooth.
  3. Generously spoon the cheese mixture into each jalapeño half.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine breadcrumbs, melted butter, and smoked paprika. Mix until breadcrumbs are evenly coated, then press onto cheese filling.
Cooking
  1. Arrange the stuffed jalapeños in the air fryer basket, cheese-side up. Air fry at 375°F for about 5-8 minutes, or until golden brown.
  2. Let the poppers cool for 2-3 minutes before serving.
