Preparation
- Fill your cocktail shaker with 2 ounces of Amaretto, 1 ounce of freshly squeezed lemon juice, 1/2 ounce of simple syrup, and 1/2 ounce of egg white (if using).
- Secure the lid and shake the mixture vigorously for about 15 seconds without any ice.
- Add crushed ice to your shaker and shake again for another 15 seconds to chill and incorporate.
- Strain the mixture into a low-ball glass filled halfway with crushed ice.
- Garnish with a maraschino cherry and a twist of orange or lemon peel.
Notes
For best froth, do the dry shake first before adding ice. Avoid using bottled lemon juice for optimal flavor.
