  • 1 can (21 ounces) store-bought apple pie filling, chopped, divided Alternatively, use 1 recipe homemade apple pie filling.
  • 1 large egg, beaten Gives the wreath a beautiful, golden finish.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Make sure to sift for best texture.
  • ½ cup light brown sugar, packed Brings a rich sweetness to the dish.
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon A staple that pairs perfectly with apples.
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt Enhances the flavors throughout.
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted Use high-quality butter for that rich flavor.
  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar For that extra touch of sweetness and shine.
  • 2 tablespoons whole milk Creaminess that ties the glaze together.

Preparation
  1. Thaw the Rhodes rolls by removing them from the package and placing them on a greased baking sheet. Cover with greased plastic wrap and let thaw for 3-5 hours at room temperature or overnight in the refrigerator.
  2. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Once thawed, flatten each roll to about 3 inches wide. Add 1 tablespoon of apple pie filling onto the flattened roll, then wrap the dough tightly around it and pinch to seal.
  4. Arrange the stuffed dough balls on the prepared baking sheet in a circular pattern, resembling a wreath.
  5. Brush the rolls with the beaten egg to promote browning. For the streusel topping, mix flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt, then mix in the melted butter, and sprinkle generously over the rolls.
Baking
  1. Bake the wreath in the preheated oven for 30-34 minutes, or until golden brown.
Glazing
  1. In a bowl, whisk together the confectioners’ sugar and milk until smooth, then pour the glaze over your slightly warm apple wreath.

Notes

Ensure your butter is room temperature for easy mixing. For a healthier option, replace white sugar with coconut sugar or use applesauce in your pie filling.
