Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
Cream Cheese Filling
- In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, 1 cup of sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla extract. Beat with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy for about 2-3 minutes.
Assembly
- Roll out one tube of crescent rolls onto the bottom of the prepared baking dish, sealing any perforations.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the rolled dough.
- Roll out the second tube of crescent roll dough and lay it over the cream cheese layer, pressing to seal.
Toppings
- Beat the egg white until frothy, brush it over the top layer, and sprinkle the mixture of remaining sugar and cinnamon on top.
Baking
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and the filling is set.
Cooling
- Remove from oven and cool at room temperature for at least 30 minutes. Chill in the refrigerator for a minimum of 2 hours before serving.
Serving
- Slice into squares and serve cold.
