For the Float
  • 3 scoops high-quality vanilla ice cream Recommended brands: Haagen-Dazs or Ben & Jerry’s
  • 2 ounces vodka Choose a smooth vodka like Grey Goose
  • 12 ounces grape soda Craft soda recommended for authentic flavor
  • to taste whipped cream Optional but highly recommended for garnish
  • to taste red grapes, frozen Optional for garnish and keeps the drink chilled
  • to taste mint leaves Optional for garnish

Method
 

Assembly
  1. Begin by scooping three generous scoops of soft vanilla ice cream into a tall glass.
  2. Pour 2 ounces of your choice vodka over the ice cream.
  3. Slowly and carefully pour in 12 ounces of grape soda, pouring down the side of the glass to minimize overflow.
  4. Top with a swirl of whipped cream, then sprinkle some frozen red grapes and fresh mint leaves for garnish.
  5. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For the ultimate experience, chill your glass in the freezer for about 10 minutes before starting. If your float is too sweet, consider adding a squeeze of fresh lemon juice to balance out the flavors.
