  • 8 ounces 8 ounces cream cheese, softened Make sure it’s at room temperature for smooth blending.
  • 1 cup 1 cup confectioners’ sugar The powdered form dissolves beautifully for a silky texture.
  • 1/4 cup 1/4 cup sour cream Adds a tangy note; Greek yogurt is a good substitute.
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Pure vanilla enhances the overall flavor.
Whipped Cream
  • 1 cup 1 cup heavy whipping cream Must be cold for the best fluffy texture.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a stand mixer, combine softened cream cheese and mix on medium speed until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Gradually add confectioners’ sugar and mix on low until combined; then increase to medium speed until smooth, around 2 more minutes.
  3. Incorporate sour cream and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, pour in the cold heavy whipping cream and whip until stiff peaks form, about 3-5 minutes.
  5. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until fully integrated.
  6. Transfer the mousse to a serving dish and serve immediately, or chill in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
