Preparation
- Place the ribs in a large stockpot and cover them with water. Add the quartered onion, salt, and pepper. Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 120 minutes, until the ribs are very tender.
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, garlic, and cornstarch until fully combined and smooth.
- Once the ribs are tender, carefully remove them from the pot with tongs, discard the cooking liquid, and cut the ribs into individual portions.
- Place the ribs meaty side up on a foil-lined baking sheet.
Baking
- Brush the ribs generously with about 1/3 of the sauce. Bake for 45 minutes, basting the ribs with additional sauce twice—after 15 minutes and again after 30 minutes.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat at 350°F until warm.
