Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line an 8×8 inch square pan with parchment paper.
Brownie Layer
- In a mixing bowl, cream the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract.
- Stir in the melted dark chocolate until well combined.
- Fold in the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until a thick batter forms.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
Oreo Layer
- Place a single layer of Oreos on top of the brownie batter, pressing them in slightly to ensure they stick.
Cookie Layer
- In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.
- Fold in the flour, baking powder, salt, and chocolate chips to create a thick cookie dough.
Assembly and Baking
- Drop spoonfuls of the cookie dough over the Oreos, gently flattening them to cover the gaps.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes until the cookie top is golden and the edges pull away from the pan.
Cooling
- Let the brookies cool completely in the pan before lifting them out and slicing into squares.
Notes
For best results, ensure proper cooling for texture. Use high-quality dark chocolate for the best flavor. Avoid overmixing for fluffy layers. Let cool completely before slicing.
