Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Rinse the salmon fillet under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
- Keep the skin on for moisture and flavor. If using skinless fillets, be extra careful not to overcook!
Making the Marinade
- In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, the juice and zest of one lemon, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Rub this mixture generously over your salmon fillets.
Baking
- Place the salmon skin-side down in a baking dish lined with parchment paper.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes.
- Look for a light pink color in the center that flakes easily with a fork.
Finishing Touches
- Let the salmon rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
Notes
For perfect results, avoid overcooking and skip the marinade.
